New Construction Homes To Build More

New construction homes paves its way into the housing market with home buyers making use of it as an option amidst the low inventory of homes to purchase.

Many believe that we are on our way to another housing bubble, due to the pace of housing recovery being so unsustainable. Chief Economist at Realtor.com, Jonathan Smoke explains the differences between today and fifteen years ago:

“The havoc during the last cycle was the result of building too many homes and of speculation fueled by loose credit. That’s the exact opposite of what we have today.”

Over the last 30 years, new single-family housing has seen some of its lowest numbers in the most current recovery period (2012-Today). The numbers are also far lower than those that built-up to the housing bubble of 2002-2006.

New Construction Homes To Build MoreSingle-family housing start refers to “the number of permits issued for construction of new single family housing units. Housing starts are an important economic indicator due to its extensive spill over benefits for the other sectors of the economy (retail, manufacturing, utilities).”

Bottom Line
The current status of demand for housing actually requires that more new construction homes occur. We should soon be returning to historically normal levels.
